Hello and welcome to my bog!
I've been thinking of a way to get out my frustrations about work and I think this might be a good start.
My job is not exciting. I'm an office manager for a small company. We have less than 10 employees and while most of them are very nice, we have a couple negative ones that keep us on our toes. I have been working here for 10 years and for the most part, really enjoy my job.
My promise is to try to keep it light and funny. It's not always possible because even the most positive person will succomb to the bad stuff occasionally. So let's start with a intro to some of my characters. They are all real but names will be changed to protect the innocent and not so innocent.
Boss - Self explanatory. He is past retirement age himself but he's not the type to sit around all day. He likes to have somewhere to go every morning. Boss has a wife, 4 adult children, 9 grandchildren and he loves golf. He's a very social guy and between that and golf, his mind is often elsewhere. In spite of all those distractions, he is a good and decent man who I love like my own father.
Sue - Crazy co-worker. She has had some bad breaks in her life and some real tough ones since she started working here 6 years ago and she blames the world for her misfortune. She needs to be on some sort of medication. Sue is an aging biker chick who spent quite a bit of her young adult years floating around, touring the country on her Harley, just getting by and being ok with that. Sadly, that lack of direction is affecting her now since she has no real skills, social or professional to speak of and no education. She didn't even graduate high school. She has an ex husband, a distant son and her boyfriend seems to be sort of a jerk but I can't say for sure because she is a nagger.
The guys - The machine operators who work here. They are very nice guys. They come here, do thier work and go home. They try not to get involved in the petty stuff Sue tries to drag everyone into. There are 4 of them and I will use thier initials if I need to refer to them.
I hope you enjoy this blog and I hope I can keep looking at things in a light hearted way since I've spent way too much time getting all icky about stuff.
